[Islam] Islam and Ego by Nouman Ali Khan

Mashallah, this is exactly what I’m looking for. The basic of applying value of Islam in personal life. I believe, this is also what Rasulullah Salallahu ‘Alaihi Wassalam taught us Muslim/ah. Put aside ego. Religion or faith is something personal, very private, between you and Allah. It’s the habluminallah. But then again, as Muslim we have this duty toward another human beings (habluminannas) to remind them of Allah.

I actually concur with his saying about, we do our best effort and let the result in Allah’s hands. The key of heart is in Allah’s hands. We do our duty for the sake of Allah, and that’s it. Leave the rest to Allah.

Oh, and one more thing, in the question-answer session, I like the way the ustadz treated the Muslima sister. He didn’t stare at her, but listening to her question in respect. Yes, that’s how Islam treat a woman. And the answer of her question was just beautiful. Ah… well, you can check out yourself. 😉

When there’s somebody say something hurtful to you, just keep your distance in respectful way. We don’t cut relations (silaturahim) in Islam, but we may keep our distance with people who hurt us without actually say that to them. It’s a silent kind of advice.

Wow.. that’s, really, new for me. You seriously need amazing self control about this. It’s a challenge, so yes, I MUST master my ego. 😉 Don’t you want the same too, readers?

And feel free to subscribe the uploader: Iman Project. The uploader even has the Russian version subtitle, isn’t that wonderful? Thank you for sharing this beautiful lecture with us, Mr. uploader.

[Islam] Learn The Qur’an

I found this interesting, when Ustadz Nouman Ali Khan taught his daughter, Husna, Arabic, in order to learn The Al-Qur’an. There is an important tips he reminded us: When ever you feel it’s getting harder to learn the Qur’an, remember this verse:

And We have certainly made the Qur’an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? [Q.S. 54. Al-Qamar: 17]

Indeed.

Learning Qur’an is unique, to me personally. For me, Qur’an is so awesome, that at some point, you felt as if it is literally communicating with you. What ever questions you have in mind, you will find it in the Qur’an. Literally. Mashallah. It’s true, the promise of Allah, that Al-Qur’an is the light in the darkness.

And, learning Arabic, in order to understand Qur’an, might be tricky. But, always remember the verse, then Allah will come to the rescue. Trust that. Allah never lie. 🙂

Have fun learning Qur’an. 🙂

[Ramadhan Talks] Hidayah of Allah is every where

Ramadhan will end in few days. I actually have so many things to share with you, dear readers. But one thing at a time, I think. 🙂 Today, after doing my work, I was listening to some da’wah by youtube. And I will share this inspirational video with you. It’s about a man, he’s paralysed from neck down. His name is Robert Davila. The da’i is Nouman Ali Khan.

Allah bless Robert Davila.

And here is a video about the meeting with Robert Davila. Look at his happy face. It gives me goosebumps to see him and listens to his voice. I can’t help but cry seeing this entire video. Especially when he started to recite the Qur’an.

If Robert can learn Qur’an, why can’t we?

Watching and learning from Robert Davila, I admit, that hidayah (guidance) of Allah is literally every where. Allah will show guidance to whom ever Allah wanted. And Allah’s guide can come from any kind of things.

Watching this, alhamdulillah, my iman gets stronger. May Allah pour His bless upon Rasulullah Muhammad, SAW. Also upon Robert Davila and all the Muslim and Muslimat who received Allah’s hidayah. Aamiin..

[Ramadhan Talks] The People of ‘Aad, Story of Prophet Hud

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

Hello, dear readers. How are you today? Hope you are all doing well. AlhamduliLLAH. If not, I pray to ALLAH to give you strength and patience to overcome all your troubles. I pray to ALLAH to guide you to the right way, the best way possible, and solve what ever problems burden your shoulders. Aamiin..

My health had been a little disturbed the past two months. Even before Ramadhan, I already suffered it. But, alhamduliLLAH, praise to ALLAH, I have no trouble doing all the shaum, completely from the day 1 to today (Ramadhan 23rd), inshALLAH. That’s the “magic” of this special month of Ramadhan. I am lucky enough to be born and live in the country where around 90% of the total populations (of 300-something millions) are Muslims. The atmosphere of Ramadhan is always so thick, at least in the areas of my house and the office. AlhamduliLLAH.. I can hear people recite the noble Qur’an on almost every masjid (mosque) I passed by.

Anyways, what is it that I suffered?

It calls Hypotension. The abnormally low blood pressure. (Feel free to read the details on these websites here: http://patient.info/doctor/hypotension and here: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/low-blood-pressure/basics/definition/con-20032298)

My Blood Pressure (BP) reached 70/50 (from the normal 120/80) which is very low. The doctor has given me the medicine to reduce my headache, which is common suffered by hypotension patients. She also gave me some vitamins (B complex) and some supplements to stimulate my body produces more blood. There are also traditional medicine suggested by some friends, such as red meats (but, careful, it might boost up your bad cholesterol level), papaya leaves and cassava leaves. In the next few weeks my BP was slightly increased. Became 90/70. But it’s still pretty low. The doc said not enough, but it’s safe for me to do my Ramadhan shaum (fasting), which I did and do. But several days ago, the headache came back. My body felt as if I was boneless. So I came back to the doctor, and my BP returned to 70/50.

Generally I feel alright. I am a strong woman, I know it. But still, I’m a mortal. *duh, of course* I mean, when the BP went low, I found it hard to concentrate nor focus. So that I couldn’t write as much as I wanted for this “Ramadhan Talks” topic.

Ancient Nation of ‘Aad (courtesy of divithana.com)

By the way, talking about strong people, history has noted there was once, live in this old earth, the strongest nation of the world. They called The Nation of ‘Aad. How strong they were? Oh, they were EXTREMELY strong: body (it was said, their figure were somewhat gigantic), power, wealth.. No nation, until today, has been created as nearly strong as the people of ‘Aad.

But, classic mankind’s character, given such power by ALLAH, they tend to corrupt. They were so sure nobody, and nothing can beat their amazing power. So they “challenged” ALLAH by resurrected this religion/cult of worshiping idols that was actually destroyed before in the era of Ibraheem (Abraham).

So, instead of worshiping ALLAH, they just deliberately chose to worship *dead* idols which can do nothing for them whatsoever. In my personal opinion, the people of ‘Aad were like the bunch of brainless muscles with money, which all were useless for them when ALLAH’s wrath came upon them.

The Qur’an mentioned this strong nation several times in 2 surah:

In Q.S. 7 Al-A’raf: 65-72

Shahih International:
65. And to the ‘Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, “O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. Then will you not fear Him?”
66. Said the eminent ones who disbelieved among his people, “Indeed, we see you in foolishness, and indeed, we think you are of the liars.”
67. [Hud] said, “O my people, there is not foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds.”
68. I convey to you the messages of my Lord, and I am to you a trustworthy adviser.
69. Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and increased you in stature extensively. So remember the favors of Allah that you might succeed.
70. They said, “Have you come to us that we should worship Allah alone and leave what our fathers have worshipped? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful.”
71. [Hud] said, “Already have defilement and anger fallen upon you from your Lord. Do you dispute with me concerning [mere] names you have named them, you and your fathers, for which Allah has not sent down any authority? Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait.”
72. So We saved him and those with him by mercy from Us. And We eliminated those who denied Our signs, and they were not [at all] believers.

And, in Q.S.11 Hud: 50-60

Sahih International:
50. And to ‘Aad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said, “O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. You are not but inventors [of falsehood].

Indonesian:
Kamu hanyalah mengada-adakan saja.

Sahih International:
51. O my people, I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason?

Indonesian
Maka tidakkah kamu memikirkan(nya)?”

Sahih International
52. And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength. And do not turn away, [being] criminals.”

Sahih International
53. They said, “O Hud, you have not brought us clear evidence, and we are not ones to leave our gods on your say-so. Nor are we believers in you.

Sahih International
54. We only say that some of our gods have possessed you with evil.” He said, “Indeed, I call Allah to witness, and witness [yourselves] that I am free from whatever you associate with Allah

Sahih International
55. Other than Him. So plot against me all together; then do not give me respite.

Sahih International
56. Indeed, I have relied upon Allah , my Lord and your Lord. There is no creature but that He holds its forelock. Indeed, my Lord is on a path [that is] straight.”

Sahih International
57. But if they turn away, [say], “I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian.”

Sahih International
58. And when Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us; and We saved them from a harsh punishment.

Sahih International
59. And that was ‘Aad, who rejected the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant.

Sahih International
60. And they were [therefore] followed in this world with a curse and [as well] on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, ‘Aad denied their Lord; then away with ‘Aad, the people of Hud.

Their sins of disobeying ALLAH The Almighty and became shirk (worship other Gods than ALLAH alone) had caused ALLAH’s wrath. And ALLAH, The Most Merciful, will not get upset unless ALLAH sent His messenger(s) to warn the jahiliyah (corrupted) people. Prophet Hud, one of the ‘Aad citizen, has been sent to tell them about the warning. He asked them to return to the path of ALLAH and avoid His wrath. But, still, The ‘Aad did not listen. They even mocked Hud. Scolded him and called him a crazy man (typical accusal made by past non believers toward the prophets of ALLAH).

So, on that fateful day, Allah wiped out The ‘Aad, with mighty cold wind, for 8 days 7 nights. As mentioned in the Qur’an Q.S. 69 Al-Haqqah: 6-7.

Sahih International:
And as for ‘Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind. | Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.

And, just like that, they’re gone. All of them, along with the vast buildings and monuments they’ve made. But ALLAH did save some debris left of the great monuments of The ‘Aad. For what? As a warning to today’s mankind.

You can read about the finding of the debris in full reviews here:

  1. http://www.quran-m.com/firas/en1/index.php/historical/115-discovering-the-habitations-of-aad.html
  2. http://www.islamicity.com/science/QuranAndScience/destruction/GeneratedFilesnoframe/ThePeopleof145AdandUbartheAtlantisoftheSands.htm
  3. http://amirawidyatama.blogspot.com/2011/01/penemuan-kaum-ad.html (bahasa Indonesia)

Destroying a nation is always EASY for ALLAH. And the reason to destroy a nation was always clear: the people turned zulm (destructive, anarchy, harmful to each other) and shirk (worship other Gods than ALLAH).

But what about the prophet Hud, and the good people of ‘Aad whom followed Hud and obey ALLAH? It is clearly said in the Qur’an that ALLAH saved them all. (Read the ayah above, Q.S.7 Al-A’raf:72 and Q.S.11 Hud:58)

Anyways, there is a channel in youtube, which I came to fond to watch on, called TheMercifulServant (feel free to subscribe them). And no. I am not paid to promote them. 😀 I like this channel. They have so many informations (via dakwah = preach), stories of the messengers and prophets, and all the histories of Islam througout times. And about this prophet Hud and the people of ‘Aad, you can watch this following video:

Alright. That’s it for today, my dear readers. My friends, brothers and sisters. I will write again as soon as I have the time. 🙂 Take care and be good.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

[Knowledge-Video] Tentang Nabi Isa dan Ya’juj – Ma’juj

[Opinion] talking illuminati

I’m not a fan of conspiracy theories. But, heck, it happens. 😀

This morning, I watched some videos about “hidden” illuminati in Hollywood. Somehow I was smiling. I mean, come on….. really? Why the world was so surprised about it? Illuminati, if you relate it with worshipping satan, making a move to shift human moral, well that is no really big news for us Muslim. 🙂 We already knew, since the beginning we’re declaring the syahadah (shahadah).

Let me explain a bit to you, dear readers.. 😉

After the syahadah, we do shalat (five times a day), then we learn the Qur’an and hadiths. Al-Qur’an is not only a noble book. It’s a guide to live a good life as Allah wants. Because, to be frank, Allah don’t really need us to worship Him, but we NEED to worship Allah, because it’s the only right way to live, if you knew. And because the truths of life do not need our consent.

For example, a simple math: 1 + 1 = 2. That’s the right equation. The truth. We all know this. We’ve checked and count it ourselves.

But some people wanted it to be 1 + 1 = 3, because they just love the number 3. And they denied number 2. They try so hard to make this “3” as the right equation of 1 + 1 instead.

And we, who already knew the right equation (the truth), just all smiled about these some-people’s stubborn to make 1 + 1 = 3. Because they seem to forget, the lust (on what ever efforts) never reign over truth.

(pinterest)

In Islam, the Rasulullah (prophet) Muhammad Salallahu ‘Alaihi Wassalam (peace be upon him), ask us, Muslims, to prefer to leave them rather than debating. Not because we’re scared to, but a debate certainly might spark anger–and anger is the way for satan to get into our hearts. To provoke self-arrogant, for knowing that we’re correct and others are wrong. Beside, debating is a waste of time, really. And satan loves it if we waste our time on worldly matter. Because that means you’re forgetting Allah. We don’t want that, do we? 🙂

Okay, back to the youtube channel about illuminati, well, what can I say..

All we know, thanks to the Qur’an reading, since the creation of Adam, Satan’s hatred of men made him swore to take as many as human to deny Allah and follow him (satan) instead. Allah reprieved satan, give him time to fulfill his swear, and letting human choose who will be the one they worship: Allah or satan. And in the end, whoever follow satan, they will all go to hell. It’s no new to us, really. 🙂

All we have to do is not to follow satan. It’s that “simple”. Well, it’s actually not that simple, since the world is already below satan’s feet. Like this illuminati thing. But we, followers of Allah, will not give up so easily either. Heaven is totally worth fighting for. 😉

As it is said in the Al-Qur’an, Surah Al A’raf (Q.S. 7), verses:

13. [Allah] said, “Descend from Paradise, for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased.

14. [Satan] said, “Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected.”

15. [Allah] said, “Indeed, you are of those reprieved.”

16. [Satan] said, “Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path.

17. Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You].”

18. [Allah] said, “Get out of Paradise, reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them – I will surely fill Hell with you, all together.”

So, if these satan worshippers made a move via this illuminati organization, I personally won’t be so surprised. 🙂 Simply, don’t follow and fall for their games.

You, dear readers, won’t believe how amazing the work of Allah is. We all know Allah mostly works in a secretive way. Sometimes Allah shows it too. And if Allah shows it to me, by making me realize it, I started to feel awed about it: Wow, God, really… I mean, WOW! Mashallah! It happened to me so many many MANY times I can’t even pick one to write here.

Okay, a simple example, there was a terrible accident occurred on the street which I cross daily. In that fate night, Tuesday, January 20, 2015, a suspected-junkie drove recklessly, he hit two cars, several motorbikes and killed 4 people. It happened around 20.30 WIB (Western-Indonesia time), you can read the news here. It’s in Bahasa Indonesia, sorry:

courtesy of vivanews.com

Without being sarcastic, but I have to say “Alhamdulillah” (thank God) because I and my son didn’t have to be the witness of that horrific accident. Because that night, my son came to pick me from the office about an hour late from the usual 19.00 WIB. My son said, he was overslept, so he came up late. It was way past my office hour and I was tired from all the day work, but I didn’t get mad at him. I was just thiking, everything happen for a reason. Who knows that I was literally right? So we left the office at 20.20 WIB. And it takes about 15-20 minutes from my office at Bendungan Hilir (Jakarta Pusat) to the accident scene at Arteri Pondok Indah (Jakarta Selatan).

When our motorbike passing through Simprug area (1-2 kilometers away from the accident) the traffic was already stuck. I finally told my son to take another route and avoid the traffic jam without knowing that the accident had happened and 4 bikers killed at the scene. I could not imagine if my son didn’t come late, we might as well witness the horror, or even become one of the victims there. *Pray for accident victims, may Allah rest them in peace*

In short, I know that the world will conspire to destroy my faith and corrupt my moral, but since I hand everything of my life in Allah’s hands, Allah is taking care of me instead. It’s like a paradox. Logically, you can handle everything yourselves and ended up on result you wanted. But if you hand everything to Allah, you’d ended up on results way beyond you wanted–it is anything you needed.

So, even if this illuminati rule the world, I think I will just keep on doing what a Muslim should do: consult Allah via shalat and consult Qur’an and hadiths even more for advice. I believe, Allah will prevent us from such evil, even though we are just mere humans, far from perfect and sinful. And since we love Allah, we are doing our best to please Allah, by keeping our patience and calmness.

And, oh, if you readers remember yesterday I wrote about “am I depressed?“.

Well, yes I am depressed, indeed. Sometimes it happens. All the roughness and toughness of the world sometimes hit me in the stomach, or bitch-slap (ahem, pardon my French 😀 ) me in the face. They made me weep and crawl.

I used to talk to Mom about what ever bothers me. But, my Mom has moved on from this world–may Allah take care of her there in the afterlife. So I texted and talked to my boyfriend, who lives about 3,700 km away from me. Of course he didn’t like me being whiny. He scolded me for forgetting Allah. “Desperation is a sin. Have you no faith on Allah, woman?” he wrote me.

Sounds harsh? Well, not for me. Okay, it’s a much bigger bitch-slap for me, but I do need that. My man really knows how to handle me, even from afar. Thank you, Hon. Thank You, Allah. My man’s sharp words remind me of these verses from Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast, (Q.S. 2: 155)
Who say, when a misfortune striketh them: “Innalillahi wa inna-ilaihi roji’uun [Lo! we are Allah’s and lo! unto Him we are returning]” (Q.S. 2:156)
Such are they on whom are blessings from their Lord, and mercy. Such are the rightly guided. (Q.S. 2: 157)

To realize that these troubles are “only” a trial, I feel calm. In other hand, we also have declared ourselves to have faith on qada’ and qadar (fate). That means, everything has been written by Allah. Directed by Allah. Guided by Allah. And as we all know, after the bad times there will come the good times, and also will come another bad times and then good again, so on and on. As it said in the Surah At-Talaq, verse 7:

Let him who hath abundance spend of his abundance, and he whose provision is measured, let him spend of that which Allah hath given him. Allah asketh naught of any soul save that which He hath given it. Allah will vouchsafe, after hardship, ease. (Q.S. 65:7)

Allah does not charge a soul except [according to] what He has given it. Allah will bring about, after hardship, ease.

See? So, take it easy. Be patient and calm down. 🙂 Allah likes that from human. Come on, who doesn’t want to be loved by Allah?  And if we wanted to be loved by God, then we’re doing our best to walk by His rules, right? It will not be easy, but with Allah’s help, we will make it through this storm (of life) and arrive in the garden of heaven. Inshallah. Aamiin ya Rabbal al-amin..

Have faith! 😉

[Opini] dunia dan masalahnya hanyalah permainan

Assalamu’alaikum wr wb,
Selamat pagi Keluarga dan KawaNina.. Bagaimana kabarnya hari ini? Semoga sehat dan selalu dalam lindungan Allah. Aamiin..

Remux on the mix bodi rasanya, makanya minta dipijat tradisional sama Mbak di sebelah tu. Selama memijat, kami mengobrol. Sekilas saya keinget cerita film “Cocktail” (film jadul, starring Tom Cruise).

I miss you, Mom..

Memang kuncinya hidup, selain ikhlas, adalah BERSYUKUR. Tanpa itu, kita akan lupa daratan. Lupa akhirat.

Silakan dicermati ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an berikut ini:

Surah Al-Anaam, ayat 32:

Happy Monday, all.
Jangan lupa, Allah loves us all. ^_^
