This event presented 278 discussion sessions and 254 booths in fair and expo. It was known that 64,000 people from 106 countries participated in the event, including ministers, high-ranking officials, international organization officials at ministerial level, and members of parliament from various countries. Also present were heads of state: Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Fiji President Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, Tajikistan Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda, and former Hungarian President Janos Ader as special envoy. (Kemenparekraf, 2024)
In opening the event, President Joko Widodo interpreted the theme “Water for Shared Prosperity” promoted by the World Water Forum 2024 into several basic principles. They are: avoiding competition and encouraging equality; prioritizing inclusive cooperation including the use of technology and innovative financing; and supporting peace and shared prosperity. According to the President, these three things can only be realized with single keyword known as: collaboration. (SDA KemenPUPR, 2024).

World Water Forum is an international water sector forum involving various world stakeholders. This event is held by the World Water Council (WWC). In other words, the World Water Forum is the largest international meeting to discuss water issues globally. In particular, discussing and formulating world water and sanitation management policies.
The first World Water Forum held was in 1997. At that time, the city of Marrakesh, Morocco, was chosen to be the host country for the first time. Next, it was held in The Hague, Netherlands (2000), then Japan (2003), Mexico (2006), Istanbul, Turkey (2009), Marseille, France (2012), South Korea (2015), Brazil (2018), Senegal (2022), and finally Bali, Indonesia (2024). Indonesia is the first country in Southeast Asia to be trusted to host the 10th World Water Forum. (Kemenparekraf, 2024)

This event is not just a high-level conference: it also includes a three-year preparation phase (preparation phase), a week-long event (event phase), and presentation of results (synthesis phase) with ongoing support for collective action. The World Water Forum Summit is usually attended by heads of state, heads of international organizations, high-ranking government officials, experts/experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and economists from all over the world who will share knowledge, experiences and practices on various matters and topics related to water. (World Water Forum, 2024).
