[Traffic Story] About Jakarta’s Buses

Karena postingan kali ini (bisa dibilang) informasi yang bermanfaat, saya akan menulis sesingkat mungkin dalam dua bahasa: Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Indonesia.

Since this entry would be a (hopefully) useful information, I will write it brief and bilingually–English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Dalam satu bulan terakhir, saya sudah jadi penumpang teladan bagi salah satu jenis angkutan umum yang paling populer: bus kota.

For the past month, I’ve been a regular passengers of one of the most popular public transportations in Jakarta: city bus.

I usually take the bus from Selapa (Police School) Bus Stop, Lebak Bulus (South Jakarta), and the bus route which able to take me to the office is pretty various actually. But my personal favorites are: Kopaja (a medium size bus) 615 Lebak Bulus – Tanah Abang (Non-AC); Bianglala Bus Ciputat – Senen (AC-76); Bianglala Bus Ciputat – Gajah Mada (AC-57); dan Bus APTB 04 TransJakarta Ciputat – Kota. I will explain which route they take and how much they cost you. Oh, by the way, my office is at Bendungan Hilir (Central Jakarta) area. Around the main Central Jakarta road of Senayan – Sudirman – Thamrin.

I will stop translating here, since it’s “secure” enough to explain it all in English, I think. ^_^

Jl. Raya Ciputat - Lebak Bulus diambil dari Halte Selapa
Jl. Raya Ciputat – Lebak Bulus diambil dari Halte Selapa

Kopaja 615 (Non AC) Lebak Bulus – Tanah Abang
Cost you: Rp3.000
Route: Lebak Bulus – TB Simatupang (they will take toll way and exit at Fatmawati) – Cilandak Town Square (Citos) – Pangeran Antasari – Prapanca – Blok M – Pattimura/Al Azhar – Hang Lekir – Univ. Moestopo Beragama/SCTV – Asia Afrika (Senayan City/Plaza Senayan) – TVRI – Gatot Subroto (DPR/MPR) – Slipi kolong – Pejompongan – Tanah Abang.

Bianglala (AC-76) Ciputat – Senen
Cost you: Rp7.000
Route: Ciputat – Pasar Jumat/Lebak Bulus – TB Simatupang (just like Kopaja 615, they take toll way and exit at Fatmawati) – turn left to Fatmawati – Cipete/D’best – Nawi/ITC Fatmawati – Blok A – Panglima Polim – Blok M Plaza – Al Azhar – Senayan (Bundaran, Ratu Plaza, Gelora Bung Karno, Komdak) – Semanggi underpass – Sudirman (Bendungan Hilir, Dukuh Atas) – Velbak – Diponegoro – Salemba – Senen.

Bianglala (AC-57) Ciputat – Gj. Mada

APTB 04 Ciputat – Kota

Merdeka (Monas) – Gajah Mada – Harmoni – Stasiun Kota.

Note:

Taking APTB 04 has its own plus and minus.

Plus: eventhough the bus takes the same route as Bianglala Bus AC-57, but after Blok M, they will take the busway lane, which makes it travels a lot faster, because busway lane was made especially for TransJakarta company and its integrated bus transportation. No other buses or vehicle are allowed to take its lane.

Minus: Rp1.000 more expensive than regular bus, and you will STAND UP riding it, all the way to your destination. You may need to stand up for 1-2 hours! But if you really don’t want to stand up riding it, I suggest you go far to Ciputat area where it will take some time to stop and waiting for passengers on its “shadow terminal”. This Ciputat – Lebak Bulus is about 9 km away in distance. And not to mention: traffic jam.

There. I’ve shared you the buses I usually take to go to the office. I thought you might need this information when you guys visit Jakarta and happens to be “stranded” on Lebak Bulus Area.

Anyways, if you need a complete information about all of the bus-routes of Lebak Bulus, please click here.
